Portuguese laboratory Labiagro joins AGQ Labs to boost the offer of agri-food services in Portugal

With more than two decades of experience in the country, both companies are merging to operate under the new entity AGQ Portugal SRL and the brand AGQ Labiagro, which will allow them to offer a broader and more differentiated range of services.

AGQ Labs and the Portuguese laboratory Labiagro have formalized a strategic alliance with the aim of strengthening their presence in the Portuguese agri-food sector 

Margarida Pinto , Executive Manager of Labiagro, highlighted the importance of this union, pointing out that “this is a very important step for us because, to our knowledge of the Portuguese market and our current capabilities, we will add the wide range of testing and inspection services offered by AGQ Labs. I am convinced that we will create the most attractive value offer for the Portuguese agri-food value chain.”

The operations center in Portugal will continue to be located at Labiagro's facilities in Oeiras,

Arantxa Benito , general manager of AGQ Labs Iberia, also highlighted the importance of partnering with a local company with a well-known track record. “Thanks to the quality and rigor of its services, Labiagro has earned an excellent reputation in the market,” she said.

AGQ Labiagro is positioned as a strategic supplier that covers all the needs of the Portuguese agri-food sector , with specialized services in quality control and food safety, including pesticide residue analysis, microbiology and contaminant analysis. In addition, Labiagro's offer will be complemented by nutritional monitoring of crops, soil, water, foliar and fertilizer analysis, areas in which AGQ Labs is a leader in Spain.

The operations centre in Portugal will continue to be located at Labiagro's facilities in Oeiras, which will be upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment and new analytical methods, thus consolidating AGQ Labiagro as the benchmark in the sector in the country.
